So eight posts since the first monkey's and not a single hair of an ape. I wouldn't blame you if you stopped following right now, I would if I were you. The world is full of false promises and lies, you don't need to go to an art blog to have your dream shattered once more. Go on, I wont mind, I'm sure there are millions of other monkey blogs, probably even smarter ones.

Unless I promise that the next post.........after this one will contain a monkey. Will you stay?

To anger you chimp fans even more here's some arty photo's of me at work at the rock that is black. I'm method acting in the second shot.

Pin Up

When the subject "Pin up" was announced in a recent drawing jam this is what popped into my head. For the un-educated in this underground movement its like a load of cool cats gathering in a smokey basement to hit out awesome jazz. But without the basement, smoke, jazz and personally I'm very allergic to cats. Anyway I don’t know if I have looked at to many Page 3's in my life and I'm rebelling or I just wish this was what greeted me in my local fried chicken church of heavenly fried goods. Either way she is a pin up in my eyes and its my blog so there.

Speed spaceship

I consider myself extremely lucky to be in some training for a few days with the concept guru John Wallin Liberto at the helm. For him its speed painting for me it a couple of hours head scratching. Bloody inspiring and loads of fun though. Cant wait till tomorrow :)

Speed colour studies

I'm trying to get better at landscapes in general especially colour work, so to start off I've been doing some quick colour study thumbs at lunch. All taken from photo ref (thanks to Julia Friedl for supplying some of the brilliant shots). I've been told the trick is not to use the colour picker in PS and try and paint the colours using only the human eye...... I know crazy. Damn you technology.

Anyway hopefully these will be the first of many.

There are monkeys in there, they are just very small.

Warriors come out to play

Here's my first sketch for a 3D challange going on over at CGHUB It's my spin on a warrior from the movie "The Warriors" but relocated to 2010 and she live's in North London. Hence the smile ;)

At the moment you will have to imagine the 3D and the colour, actually you have to imagine most of it.

I apologise for the lack of monkeys in this post.

Chapter 1

Ello Everyone,

Actually it's just me at the moment and no one is following so, ello me. Welcome to my blog where I will be posting some of my art work and some of my thoughts. Why the monkeys you ask? (still just me) Well that's a very good question, why not monkeys are bloody great. Here's the first pic that launched this blog. Drawn for one of the brilliant CGhub's Jams.

I hope to keep this blog updated often, if I don't............Call the emergency services I may be in trouble (or drunk, or being just plain lazy)
